Born in Darlington, County Durham, Billie was raised on Moorland walks, summer carnivals and industrial grit.
Formal training in piano and oboe led to busking guitar on the streets and learning the craft of songwriting with indie band, Ethan whilst falling in love with the fabled Canterbury Sound and headed south.
Embarking on musical study in The Big Smoke, Billie met Martine Waltier. They bonded over Mini Rolls and formed the neo-prog band, Qadesh with Martin Hoj.
Feeling a first pull from the West Country; Billie toured with Giffords Circus to wake up the sleepy villages of Gloucestershire before running away to collaborate with Dave Sinclair from cult band, Caravan and finish the solo album, A Message From...
During this time Martine and Billie re-met and followed a call deeper West to Devon.
Here they stumbled on a farm, became embroiled with Mike & Kate Westbrook and released the Thoreau-inspired album, Unrecorded Beam. After an unexpected appearance on BBC's The Voice, they made a pilgrimage to Westminster to ask people 'Who's got the Power?'.
This journey became a touring show and now an album, The Other Place. It will be released by Bad Elephant Music on May 14th 2021.
